Home Remedies to Treat Knee Pain

If said that the problem of knee pain is one of the most prevalent troubles, giving hard time to people of all ages, all throughout the world. Generally, this problem is faced by people during old age and in those whose overall health is not in good shape. However, this problem can also occur in children or adults, due to a number of reason such as lack of strength, obesity, not having flexibility of muscles, arthritis, abnormalities in body structure, injuries and more.

Home Remedies to Treat Knee Pain

It is extremely important that one must treat the problem of knee pain in the starting state only so that it doesn’t becomes unbearable at later stages. Are you experiencing pinching pain in your knees? Searching for easy ways to get rid of it?  Following are some home remedies to treat knee pain:

Massage therapy

Massage brings the pain around the knee area. Warm 3- 4 tablespoons of olive oil, which you need to apply on your knee area. Massage gently for 10 – 15 minutes. Repeat this, around times in a day for reducing knee pain.

Ice pack

Using an ice pack is one of the most common remedies used in homes as it soothes down the inflammation and also reduces swelling. Take around 4 ice cubes and wrap them in a towel. Place this on your knew for 10-15 minutes, not more than that. Try to keep a huge ice pack so that the entire knee gets covered by it. You can repeat this twice in a day till the swelling and pain lessens.

Heat therapy

In the same manner as cold, steam or heat also helps in easing out pain in the knee. You can place a hot water bag on your knee for around 5 to 10 minutes for at least 3-4 times in one day for reducing the pain. The other idea is that you can sit in a bathtub with steamy water, again for around 10-15 minutes. Make sure that your knee is inside the water to reduce the knee pain.

A special drink of milk

There is a special milk preparation, which if consumed daily for a span of one or two months, you can strength your knee joints and lessen the pain. Make powder of crushed of walnut and almonds. Add 1 teaspoon of this power along with a pinch of turmeric powder into 2 cups of milk. Boil the milk till it gets reduced to half. Drink this milk once every day for some magical results.

Keep the knee in elevated position

To get riddance from pain and swelling in the keep, try to keep your knee on an elevated position. While you are at home, you can keep your leg on a cushion or on a number of pillows to keep it elevated. This reduced inflammation.

Ginger

Ginger is one of the best things when it comes to treating swelling and knee pain. Adding ginger to your daily tea will not only make it taste better but will also reduce the knee pain. You can also use ginger oil to massage your knee to reduce the pain.

Egg yolk and Walnut paste

If the cause of your knee pain is injury, the best remedy is egg yolk and walnut paste. Take 2 egg yolks and add 1 tablespoon of fish oil, and 2 tablespoons of castor oil. Now add 4 tablespoon of white turmeric powder to this mixture, making it a thick paste. Put this mixture in a pan and heat it for not more than 10 seconds. Use cotton to apply this mixture on your knee, covering it with a gauze. Leave this as it is for one night. The next day, use lukewarm water to wash this mixture. Add Epsom salt to this water for reducing the pain.

Papaya Seeds Tea

Take papaya seeds and boil them in sufficient amount of water. Later add tea bag to it and boil this for another 2 minutes. After you train this tea, add a pinch of black pepper power and a teaspoon of honey to it. Drink this twice a day and get relief from your knee pain.

Oil Mixture

Take pumpkin skin oil, clove oil, olive oil and carom seed oil, mix them with 2-3 tablespoons of dry ginger powder. Now boil this mix till the ginger power becomes black. Use this mix to massage for 10 minutes, at least twice a day.

Foods to eat

Do not miss eating fresh vegetables and fruits in your daily diet as this reduces knee pain. Same is the case with dry fruits and nuts.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Omega 3 rich oil assists in reducing pain. Massage the affected area with generous amount of mix of olive oil and fish oil, for 10-15 minutes. You can do this two time in a day. It is best to leave the massaged area as it is for overnight. Results can be seen in a week’s time.

Wearing Right Shoes

Wearing improper footwear is the cause of knee pain in a huge number of people with knee pain. Do not wear shoes or slipper with more than one inch of heel so that there is no extra stress on your knees. You can wear shoes that have good cushioning in the inner side of the sole.

Pineapple

Pineapple has a number of benefits. Add this to your daily diet. It also has properties to reduce knee pain.

Hot Shower

If you wish to reduce pain, it is a good idea to take a warm or hot shower, at least 3 time in a day. The other remedy is to stay inside a warm water tub at least 2 days in a week for 15 minutes.

Try Moving

The best way to avoid joint pain is to keep walking or moving. Doing rigorous exercise is not necessary, just keep moving from one place to the other.
